IC Framework

What Is the Default Perspective?

When every IC signal feels like personal identity — and leverage disappears.

What It Is

The Default Perspective is the starting condition most people live in without knowing it has a name.

In the Default Perspective, every signal the IC generates gets filed under personal identity. The anxiety is not "the IC is alarmed" — it is "I am an anxious person." The anger is not "the IC is in threat mode" — it is "I have anger issues." The craving is not "the IC wants relief" — it is "I am weak." The shutdown is not "the IC is avoiding" — it is "I don't have what it takes."

Every signal becomes a character verdict. The person becomes what the IC is doing.

In the Default Perspective, both voices feel like "me" — which means there is nobody left to observe the conflict.

How It Works

The Instinctual Core produces signals constantly: alarms, drives, cravings, avoidance impulses, threat assessments. These signals arrive with force — they are designed to be compelling enough to produce action quickly.

In the Default Perspective, there is no filter between the signal and identity. The signal arrives, and it becomes "me." Not something happening to a person. Not something a system is generating. Just "me" — who apparently is anxious, or broken, or unable, or too much, or not enough.

This is not stupidity. It is not weakness. It is simply what happens before anyone shows the person the distinction. Nobody is born knowing that there is a separate survival system running inside them that generates signals on its own. The Default Perspective is the factory setting.

The problem is not that it exists. The problem is what it makes impossible.

Why It Matters

In the Default Perspective, there is no leverage because there is no separation. If the signal and the person are the same thing, then the only available moves are aimed at hating or forcing the signal out of existence: shame yourself more, try harder, discipline yourself into compliance, white-knuckle through it.

Those approaches don't work for long. Not because the person isn't trying — they are often trying very hard — but because they are fighting at the wrong level. The Hijacking runs upstream. The shame and discipline arrive after the fact, aimed at a behavior that was already produced by a system the person didn't know existed.

The Default Perspective also makes the IC's signals feel more true than they are. When the IC says "you can't handle this," the Default Perspective receives that as information about reality. There is no observer to check whether the alarm is accurate, because the observer and the alarm are the same thing.

The exit isn't fixing the signal. It's seeing the Default Perspective clearly enough to step outside it.

The Exit

The move out of the Default Perspective is not willpower. It is not a better attitude. It is learning to see the two voices as two different things — the person and the IC — so that there is finally a "you" who can evaluate what the IC is saying rather than simply becoming it.

That move is Separation. And the result of that move is living in the IC Perspective: a way of operating where IC signals are seen, named, and responded to — rather than automatically fused with identity and obeyed.

The Default Perspective doesn't make someone broken. It makes them unarmed. The IC Perspective gives them back the tool they didn't know they'd lost: an honest observer of their own internal system.

How It Connects

The Default Perspective is what makes Hijacking invisible — there is no separation from which to notice the IC running its program. RADAR is the tool that creates the exit: each step builds the distance needed to move from Default to IC Perspective. Separation is the specific mechanism that makes the shift. Pass-Through is what becomes possible once the shift is in place. Together, these moves are the foundation of the Great Life Flip — from IC-forced living to human-chosen living.
